Leadership camp


Learning outcomes achieved while doing the activity over a period of time:
1)      [] Increased their awareness of their own strengths and areas of growth

In ‘Introductory session’, I learnt:
ü  To be observant to people around me
ü  Ability to point out positive instead of negative
ü  That everyone have their own uniqueness

In ‘Juggling bean bags’, I learnt:
ü  To adapt to changes
ü  The importance of listening during team working
ü  The importance of planning
ü  To see things from others’ point of view

In ‘Acid River’ activity, I learnt:
ü  To engage members who are not interested
ü  Importance of working together
ü  That I cannot leave any of my team members behind
ü  Importance of cooperation and communication

In ‘centipede-walking’ activity, I learnt:
ü  The importance of cooperation and how difficult team work becomes even if single member lose concentration or interest
ü  Importance of having direction set out for the members to follow
ü  Need of effective communication

In ‘crate building’ activity, I learnt:
ü  To manage limited time
ü  The importance of planning beforehand and coming up with ideas
ü  To take nothing for granted
ü  Importance of creativity
ü  The happiness that comes from achieving goal

In ‘Challenge tower’, I leant:
ü  To see things from others’ point of view
ü  The importance of doing things everyday
ü  Fun activity can become dangerous without listening to instructions
ü  To encourage each other

In ‘mountain climbing’, I learnt:
ü  The importance of exercising everyday
ü  The importance of water
ü  The crucial role that nature has one our lives

In ‘Group dance and song’, I learnt:
ü  To be patient
ü  To work with members who are not interested in the activity
ü  To control my anger
ü  To be creative
ü  To be bold and confident on our ideas although it might seem absurd

In ‘Paint ball’, I learnt:
ü  To be alert
ü  To know my team members’ position
ü  To listen carefully what is going on around me
ü  The importance of listening to instructions
